Zell Am See-Kaprun

 

The region of Zell am See-Kaprun was formerly known as "Europa Sport Region" and is one of Austria’s most beautiful holiday regions. Zell Am See

Some 100 years ago Zell am See was a rather unknown market village. Then the railway was built and Zell became an important station. The village grew and was declared a city in 1928. Today the lovely town at Lake Zell has almost 10,000 inhabitants. Also its location close to Großglockner High Alpine Road increased the importance of Zell am See, bringing many tourists to the region.

Kaprun

Kaprun has got two landmarks – the Kitzsteinhorn glacier and the medieval castle. Kaprun Castle was built in the 12th century and has a varied history. Today the castle – one of the oldest in the province of Salzburg – is used as a venue for different cultural events.

Schmittenhöhe

The Schmittenhöhe stands for diverse winter holidays in Austria. During the cold season it offers 77km of perfectly primed ski slopes for the ultimate skiing experience. If you're not into skiing the wonderful landscape will please your eye. In summer you can explore Zell am See’s local mountain during hikes, climbing expeditions and Nordic Walking. Qualified hiking guides will lead you in winter as in summer!

Maiskogel
